Zip-lining in Traverse City

About 35 miles east of Beulah, Mt. Holiday offers zip-lining, tubing, trails, skiing, snowboarding, and a nice menu of eats for your post-adventure hunger! A non-profit organization formed in 1999 to keep the land undeveloped, Mt. Holiday accepts donations to further this goal and hosts a variety of fundraisers for the hill.

Sandboarding at Arcadia Dunes

Just 20 minutes southeast of our Dunegrass Beulah location, sandboarding has become a popular ‘only in Michigan’ thing. Check the park information for designated sandboarding areas or ask the locals . Tip: the more wax, the faster you go!

Disc Golf

Being a college town Disc Golf is a big thing! Check out some great parks:

The Purple Door

Save the Dunegrass for later tonight. The Purple Door is an axe-throwing facility on Northland Avenue in Big Rapids. Admit it, you’ve always wanted to try it, and with reservations for one hour blocks, this is not a huge commitment of time. But once you try it, you’ll want to perfect your technique!

Disc Golf at Kenwood Heritage Park

not only has a disc course for the discer in your life, the park also has plenty of space and playgrounds for the kiddos while you grill for the picnic.

Ziplining at Boyne Highlands

A mere 30 minutes northwest of Dunegrass in Gaylord, guided Zipline Adventure Tour features a series of seven lines that take you to an Higher Latitude – 1,325 feet – and lasts up to 2.5 hours! Fly high at speeds of 20-25 mph on the longest zipline in Michigan on lines up to 50 feet high. Start at the top of the mountain, and descend over 50 stories as you fly through trees and across the slopes, back to the base area.

Flyboarding at Torch Lake

Just 45 min or so west of Gaylord, flyboarding is fast becoming a new favorite activity! It’s an extreme new water sport that will have you flying through the air on a pressurized jet of high water! This is a blast…

West Shore Disc Golf – West Shore Community College

Located in Scottsville, 21 miles south of Manistee, the Westshore Community College hosts a permanent 24-hole disc golf course.

Red Szymarek Park

A wooded five-hole course provides great practice for shots around trees. Intimate and easily accessible, it’s our favorite. We may be a bit biased though, since Dunegrass donated the course! We’re always here to bring the Higher Latitude to community projects.

Silver Lake State Park

Touted as one of the top five sandboarding areas in the U.S., Silver Lake encompasses 2,936 acres that border Lake Michigan and Silver Lake. Just an hours’ drive south of Manistee, This is a popular place for sand buggies and off-road vehicles, hiking and camping too. A great location to bring your Dunegrass and have a great responsible adventure.

First Street Beach

Boogie boarding is addictive and a great time for beginners or those who can show off their skills. First Street Beach in Manistee gives you the opportunity to display your skills or maybe help some newbies get their boogie going.
